The Domic Edit: When Veuve Clicquot Chose Domic

Domic June 18, 2026

There are certain moments that quietly confirm what a place is.

Not a review or a write-up. Not the number of rooms or the rate per night. But the moment a Maison of genuine distinction – one with 250 years of history and a global reputation for discernment – looks at every possible venue and chooses you. Twice.

That is what happened with Hotel Clicquot.

The World’s Only Hotel

Veuve Clicquot does not run hotels. It makes champagne – and has done so since 1772, shaped by the boldness of Madame Clicquot herself, the woman who transformed the Maison and, in doing so, redefined what it meant to build something of lasting quality.

Each year, Veuve Clicquot takes a private residence – somewhere it considers the right setting – and turns it into the world’s only Hotel Clicquot. A transient hotel, open for days rather than months, layered with signature yellow, a resident sommelier, a 24-hour butler service, and culinary experiences that most guests will never have access to again.

There is no fixed Hotel Clicquot address. There is simply the place Veuve Clicquot selects.

In 2022, and again in 2023, they selected Domic.

2022: The Global Debut

The 2022 activation marked the global debut of Hotel Clicquot in Noosa – a significant moment for the Maison, which was also celebrating its 250th anniversary that year. To mark the occasion, Veuve Clicquot’s President and CEO, Jean-Marc Gallot, chose to bring the world’s only Hotel Clicquot to the beachfront at Sunshine Beach.

Domic hosted guests for two-night stays across November, with packages that included all-inclusive dining prepared by private chefs, unlimited Veuve Clicquot, a chef’s table experience highlighting local seafood and produce, and a Garden Gastronomy evening. Bookings, handled exclusively through Luxury Escapes, sold out within seconds of each release – with a waitlist exceeding 200 guests before the doors opened.

The architecture absorbed the transformation quietly. Domic’s curved forms and elevated pool position became the setting for something recognisably itself and yet entirely Clicquot.

2023: A Return, and an Elevation

A brand of Veuve Clicquot’s calibre does not return without reason. When they came back to Domic in October 2023, they extended the experience from two nights to three and assembled what they called a Culinary Tour de Force: Peter Gilmore of Quay and Bennelong, Martin Benn of Sepia and Society, and Sergio Perera – known privately as Chris Hemsworth’s personal chef.

The residence was given over entirely to the activation. Signature Clicquot yellow appeared throughout the spaces – umbrellas, table settings, small considered details – layered over the architecture without competing with it. Guests arrived by private transfer, moved between the pool, the day spa, the cinema and the bar, and sat at table with some of the most celebrated chefs in the country.

The details that define a Domic stay – the privacy, the pool, the wellness spaces, the direct beach access were exactly what Hotel Clicquot required.

What It Means to Be Chosen

The question worth sitting with is not what Hotel Clicquot brought to Domic, but why Domic was the answer.

Veuve Clicquot is not short of options. Australia has no shortage of beautiful properties. But Hotel Clicquot requires something specific: a setting that can hold an experience of that weight without being diminished by it. A place where the architecture and the landscape do the work that a hotel lobby ordinarily cannot. A private environment where every guest feels the stay belongs to them entirely.

Domic was selected because it already operated at that level. The collaboration did not elevate the residence – it confirmed what the residence already was.

On Returning to Domic

Both seasons of Hotel Clicquot are now part of this property’s story – not as a marketing chapter, but as evidence. The world’s most recognised champagne house, operating its only hotel globally, chose this address. And when they returned the following year, they stayed longer and charged more.

That is a kind of endorsement that cannot be manufactured.

Domic remains a private residence, available for exclusive stays throughout the year. The Clicquot years are behind it. But what they revealed about the property – its capacity to hold extraordinary moments, to disappear behind great experiences without diminishing them – remains entirely present.

It is, in the end, simply what Domic is.
